- Expression of Interest are invited for Technical Design of the PNDA Parametric Insurance Product. · Issue Date and Time: Jan 09,2024 20:36 · Closing Date and Time: Jan 23,2024 23:59 The Purpose of this Consultancy is to Build a Solid Index that can be Used to Design an Insurance Policy Triggering in the Case of a Severe Event Impacting the Productivity of the Farmers Participating in the Pnda; Covering for each Farmer at a Level Aligned with Their Own Investment in the Climate Smart Technology. The Main Objectives of the Proposed Commitment will be to:A. Provide Technical Advice that will Include the Design of the Risk Transfer Product(S); The Design of the Policy Triggers for the Product(S) and the Structure of the Risk Transfer Product(S) Based on Previous Feasibility Studies; The Regulation of Index Insurance Established by the “Autorité De RéGulation Et De ContrôLe Des Assurances”(Arca); The Needs of the Uncp; And Advice or Guidance from the World Bank in Order to Meet the Needs and Objectives of the Pnda;B. Recommend Appropriate Risk Transfer Structures for the 2024-2026 Planting seasons.c. Contribute with Local Insurers to the Drafting of Clear and Robust Risk Transfer documentation.d. Training and Capacity Building of the Local Insurance Market in the Drc; Including Key Personnel from the Local Regulatory Authority (Arca) in Relation to Index Insurance Products and the Design of the Parametric Risk Transfer Product against Drought for 2024. E. Prepare and Deliver to the Government a Complete and Transparent Documentation of the Index Design and Parameters so that it can be Utilized Independently by the Uncp and Drc Government Technical Representatives for Future Iterations and Improvements that Extend beyond the Duration of this Assignment. The Wbg Reserves the Right to Publicly Disclose Contract Award Information, including but not Limited to, Name of Company Receiving the Award, Brief Description of Services, and Contract Award Amount, for Any Contract Award Valued over Us$250,000. Offeror's Proposal and Contractual Documents will Remain Confidential and Therefore not Subject to Disclosure.
