- The contract concerns the development of the RN30 from Kavimvira (Burundi border) to Uvira. The starting point is the junction with the RN5. The length of the project is 6,800 km.
Its area is marshy and impacted by variations in the level of Lake Tanganyika. The road is built mainly inembankment. Following the rise of the waters of the lake in 2020, these waters are flush with the level of the roadway in the lower part of the road. It will be useful to raise the dike. In order to guarantee its stability and not to disturb the hydraulic operation of the bridge, scuppers will be incorporated inthe new embankment and the embankments will be protected by riprap.
The RN30 is located entirely in an urban environment. It will be laid out as follows: a two-way roadway with 2 lanes 3.5 m wide, coated with bituminous concrete; 2 shoulders 1.5 m wide covered with a two-layer coating;2 pedestrian sidewalks 1.5 m wide; parking areas every 500 m
